OPERATION SEALION

1. BACKGROUND: Pact forces have taken Iceland and are mopping up
in Norway. NATO naval forces are strained to the breaking point
trying to keep the Atlantic convoy routes open. Most first line
NATO aircraft squadrons are all committed to Central Europe. The
Soviets now want to neutralize northern Great Britain in order to give
their naval forces easier passage through the Iceland UK gap. The
Soviets have put together a large SAG in the Norwegian Sea, and
have staged several tactical attack squadrons into Iceland and
Norway. To counter, Great Britain has mobilized its home
defense squadrons, and assembled a small force of old frigates
and submarines.

2.1 BLUE ORDERS: The Soviets are attempting to invade our northern
bases in Great Britain. They have assembled a large SAG in the
Norwegian sea. Satellite intel has confirmed the presence of several
merchants and landing craft in the assault group. Using available
forces, you are ordered to locate the SAG and sink all troop
carrying ships.

2.2 RED ORDERS: NATO forces on all fronts are strained to the
breaking point. Neutralizing NATO bases in the northern UK will
allow us to move decisive forces into the North Atlantic theater.
Landing ground forces in the northern UK will force NATO to divert
forces from Central Europe. You are ordered to destroy NATO's
bases in northern Great Britain using attack aircraft based in
Iceland and Norway. You are also ordered to land troops in the
northern UK and protect the beachhead for a minimum of 12 hours.

3.1 NATO INTELLIGENCE BRIEF: Several Pact attack squadrons have
been moved into Norway and Iceland. These aircraft will probably
be used to support the invasion fleet. A Kiev class and Kirov
class are believed to be in the SAG. We have found no evidence
of Soviet submarine forces committed to the invasion, although
submarines may be transiting the area. Your home defense
squadrons consist of Hawk trainers and obsolete Lightning
fighters. Your surface forces are best left in port. Strike
forces consist of one squadron of Buccaneers. Protect them
well, they are your only effective offensive weapon.
Good Luck.

3.2 PACT INTELLIGENCE BRIEF: NATO forces consist of obsolete
equipment. No first line aircraft or naval forces can be staged
to the battle area in time provided you act quickly.

4.1 NATO VICTORY CONDITIONS:
       No minimum victory conditions.
TOTAL VICTORY: destroy all 12 troop-carrying ships.

4.2 SOVIET VICTORY CONDITIONS:
MINIMUM VICTORY: destroy all 4 northern UK NATO bases.
TOTAL VICTORY: fulfill minimum victory conditions and
protect 4 troop-carrying ships at the UK
                       beachhead for 4 12 hours.
